the app is called Lazer Tag and it's by Hasbro,inc
on the top of the blaster is a slot for your idevice which when loaded with the lazer tag app, give you an augmented HUD view. you can play against virtual opponents or real people!
Note: you will need to have the aux input (headphone input) for your phone to use this, not sure it is possible with the newer iphones, as you'll need the adapter to turn it from 3.5mm to Lightning - I haven't tested it this way.  But through the headphone input, yes. please note - older iphones and ipods with the jack allow it. but Iphone 11 etc will not.
Pretty cool feature: when you're playing, the app will display your gear and power level, and new attacks and gear will be unlocked for you as enhance your experience
